self-help.
Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood
Centre through the Objects of the Association
support the following values: Equality, Equity and
Acceptance of Difference, Personal Development,
Community and Individual education and learning,
Confidentiality, Teamwork and Collaboration,
Unity, Community, High Principles,
Reliability.
The centre has a community
development focus and encourages and facilitates
community responses to family and community social
needs. When necessary and appropriate, services
(eg counselling and support) may be developed and
provided to meet social needs that arise.
OUR OBJECTIVES The objectives
for which the Association was established are -
Within the overall goal of providing for the
development of the family and community well-being
within Bundaberg and district, the Association
shall;
(a) provide and maintain low
cost premises for meetings, self-help groups,
community workshops, visiting services and other
such activities that meet family and community
social needs;
(b) Recruit, train,
support, and foster the personal growth of a team
of volunteers in order to maintain “Kenalwyn” as a
friendly, warm, caring environment;
(c) Encourage the community to be
responsive to family and community social needs;
(d) Provide services, information
and advocacy on the basis of family and community
social needs without distinction or
discrimination;
(e) Promote the
work of the Association by liaising, co-operating,
and working with other agencies and organisations;
(f) Secure and use funding from any
appropriate source to meet these objectives
